Brief Description of the Job

The job position is Informatics Nurse Specialist who will work as the liaison between clinical ancillary and other nursing operations of the NYU Langone Health system. The informatics nurse specialist will assess the need for clinical applications in ambulatory and clinical healthcare settings. The Informatic nurse will also select useful technologies and healthcare systems through a complete evaluation of the departmental needs. Nurse informatics will work with the interdisciplinary team and will also provide training and education to the healthcare staff for better patient care outcomes (Zippia, 2020). The nurse informatics specialist will participate in the technology advancements and electronic health record (EHRs) revisions. 

Technology Skills Required for the Job

For the informatics nurse specialist, the nurse must have complete knowledge of computer skills and healthcare technologies such as basic software applications, EHRs, and digital patient documentation. Nursing informatics specialists should have strong computing competence to apply technological innovations, data analysis, and evidence-based decisions for technological advancements. Nurses must be able to collaborate with software engineers by helping them in designing data infrastructure and new technologies (Zippia, 2020).
